Action Therapy & Wellness · Gonzales, LA

In Louisiana, you don't need a referral to start physical therapy.

We're an outpatient clinic on E Worthey Street, treating Ascension Parish since 2010. One therapist, one patient, one room. Call and someone gets back to you within 24 hours.

What we treat

Point at where it hurts.

Most people book by naming a body part, not a diagnosis. That is a perfectly good place to start. Here is what comes through the door most often, and who in the building handles it.

Four rooms, four jobs

What Action actually does all day.

Over 30 years of combined experience across the clinical team. Most insurance is accepted, self-pay is an option, and you will be contacted within 24 hours of calling the facility.

Around the parish

You have probably already seen the tent.

Action sets up at community events around Ascension Parish, phone number printed across the banner, handing out water at the turn. The clinic is a member of the Ascension Chamber of Commerce. That is a slower way to build a practice than advertising, and it is roughly why the review count looks the way it does.

Who is actually in the room

Five people work here. You will meet most of them.

A therapist stays with you for the session rather than starting you on a machine and moving to the next room. That is easier to promise than to staff, so here is the whole roster.

Before you call

The questions the front desk answers most.

If yours is not here, call (225) 644-7044 and ask. Nobody is going to book you in before you know what it costs.

Usually not. Louisiana is a direct access state, and most insurance plans allow you to come straight to us for physical therapy without a referral. Some plans still require one, so it is worth a quick call to check yours. Occupational therapy is the exception: that does require a doctor's referral.

We work with most insurance companies, and we have self-pay options if you would rather not run it through insurance at all. Call the office at (225) 644-7044 and we will tell you where you stand before you book anything.

Sports injuries, post-surgical recovery, stroke rehabilitation, acute and chronic pain, work-related injuries, neurological conditions such as Parkinson's and MS, and motor vehicle accident or whiplash injuries. On the hand and upper limb side we see trigger finger, De Quervain's tenosynovitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, rheumatoid arthritis, and wrist fractures.

A valid ID, your insurance card if you are using insurance, and a doctor's referral if your plan requires one or if you are coming for occupational therapy.

You will be contacted within 24 hours of calling the facility. You can also request an appointment through this site and we will call you back.

Therapeutic exercise runs $50 a month for one session a week, $75 a month for two, and $100 a month for three, paid monthly. Manual therapy is $75 for a 30 minute session, or $100 for a first visit that covers a 30 minute evaluation plus 30 minutes of treatment. Packages are 6 sessions for $350, used within three months, or 12 sessions for $700, used within six months.
